From this morning on Meet the Press:
During the interview, Biden also repeated his previous view that “life begins at the moment of conception,” the same position as John McCain.
"For me, as a Roman Catholic, I'm prepared to accept the teachings of my church," Biden told Brokaw. "I'm prepared, as a matter of faith, to accept that life begins at the moment of conception.
So... Biden believes that life begins at conception, yet he didn't even show up to vote on the partial-birth abortion ban, and criticized the Supreme Court when it upheld the ban. He has voted to use taxpayer dollars to fund Planned Parenthood and to pay for abortions at military installations and Indian reservations.Biden even voted against the Child Custody Protection Act, which would protect underage girls who live in states with parental notification laws from being taken across state lines to get secret abortions, a bill that was overwhelmingly supported in the Senate by even some prominent Democrats and supported by 70% of Americans.
It doesn't end there. Biden even voted against the common-sense pro-life legislation like the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which would protect pregnant women and their unborn child from violence.
It doesn't end with abortion... Biden has even voted against a ban on human cloning!
So how does this make sense? Biden believes that life begins at conception, but has consistently voted to destroy human life after conception? Here is Biden's reasoning. The typical pro-abortion Catholic reasoning:
"But that is my judgment. For me to impose that judgment on everyone else, who is equally — and maybe even more — devout than I am, seems to me is inappropriate in a pluralistic society."
Aides said that is Biden's longtime position — the answer he always gives.
Brokaw asked Biden how he could have that view and also vote for abortion rights.
"No … I have voted against curtailing the right — criminalizing abortion," Biden replied. "I have voted against telling everyone else in the country that they have to accept my religiously based view that it's a moment of conception."
No, Joe Biden. It has nothing to do with imposing your views on others. It has to do with your own personal political viability. You know if you voted pro-life you would be shunned by your party and perhaps your constituents in Deleware. So, you would rather vote to destroy the lives of others then to destroy your own political career.
Joe Biden has no courage.
Joe Biden is a coward.
